Galanos Custom
Tuxedo
The owner
of this James Galanos tuxedo lived a truly charmed
life. She grew up in Beverly Hills and knew Galanos
well enough to have this suit made as a custom designed
order.
The
quality of workmanship and design in this outfit is
striking. There are so many charming little details,
all combining to add a truly feminine air to this
typically masculine garment.
The
jacket and pants are made from a soft black wool. The
pants are fully lined in black silk and the jacket is
lined in black silk moiré. The pleated pants are cut
high with a narrow waistband and a left side zipper.
They button onto the satin blouse for a smooth line
under the black satin cummerbund.
The
cream satin blouse is sleeveless, buttoning in the front
with black buttons for extra drama. The collar forms a
sexy version of a gentleman's bow tie.
The
open short jacket has a moiré collar, one breast pocket,
buttons at the wrist and satin cuffs to match the
blouse.
This
truly rare, one-of-a-kind suit from James Galanos was
ordered through Amelia Gray in Beverly Hills. All four
pieces are in pristine condition.
