YSL Russian Collection
What a treat to find
something from the Yves St Laurent Russian collection designed in
1977-78. Even better to find a complete outfit from the Russian
collection.
This is a striking
ensemble with a masterful combination of fabrics and details. The
blouse is a lame woven with red silk and gold metal threads. The
round neckline is trimmed with gold braid and has a single gold
button above the open neckline. The blouse is cut straight and
full, and can be worn tucked in or worn out with a belt. The
sleeves are long and full, gathered at the wrist into a gold braid
bound cuff with a gold button and loop.
The skirt is made
from a lightweight rayon crushed velvet that is permanently
pleated.. There is a 1" wide waistband and a center back zipper and
a metal hook.
The sleeveless top,
designed as a long vest, is made from a deeper shade of cotton
velvet. It is bound on all the edges with a gold braid matching the
trim on the blouse. The gold buttons and loops are also an exact
match to the blouse. The side seams are edged in gold, and there is
a very deep slit on either side, allowing the skirt to show.
This striking three
piece outfit from Yves St Laurent Rive Gauche is in pristine
condition. The tunic and blouse are marked size 38 and the skirt is
marked size 40. Please check the measurements for an accurate fit.
