Black Beaded Evening Dress
Sophisticated
and elegant, a black on black beaded evening dress from
Malcolm Starr is a glamorous example of the style of the
late 1950's.
The figure
flattering scoop neckline and slightly raised fitted
waistline emphasize curves, while the lean silhouette of the
skirt emphasizes the length making the wearer appear
taller. The sleeveless black crepe dress is smothered with
black bugle beads marching in straight rows and swirling in
curved designs. There are clusters of three dimensional
beaded flowers. The waistline is horizontally beaded above a
gently gathered narrow skirt. There is a deep kick pleat at
the left side of the skirt for ease of movement.
There is a
metal zipper at the center back of the dress, as well as an
interior waistband with hook and eye closure. The dress is
fully lined in black silk.
In pristine
condition, all of the beading is intact on this very
glamorous and wearable dress from Malcolm Starr.
