Lanvin Castillo Adaptation
Antonio
Castillo joined the prestigious House of Lanvin in 1950.
While he upheld many of the Lanvin traditions his Spanish
heritage was apparent in his use of lace, embroidery
and brilliant colors.
This
attention getting dress designed by Lanvin Castillo is an
adaptation made by Nanty.
The fabric
is a gorgeous shade of true red with a velvet bamboo leaf
design in darker shades of red. It is fully lined and has
three petticoats. The bodice is boned, gathered at the bust
line, and the straps can be worn off the shoulder. There is
a metal zipper at the center back and an extravagant bow
that is sewn on one side of the zipper and snaps in place on
the other side. This is one of those wonderful dresses that
is just as pretty coming and going.
Worn once
in 1959, this dress is in excellent condition.
