Cashmere Cocktail Dress
Natural creamy
cashmere is adorned with glittering jeweled embellishments in this
sophisticated, sexy dress from Ben Reig, circa 1950.
The dress has a
scoop neckline and cap sleeves. Golden beaded vines and prong set
rhinestones turn this luxury fabric into a striking dress. There are
no darts, the sexy shape is achieved through a series of interesting
and unusual seams. The neckline is bound in unadorned cashmere with
generous ties at the center back above a metal zipper. There is a
matching narrow belt and belt loops. The skirt is lined in matching
silk, it was shortened a little bit, but the fabric remains in the
generous hem.
This glamorous
dress from the 1950's is in pristine condition. The leather on the
back of the belt is cracked in two places, but this is not visible
when the belt is worn.
