1950's Beaded Ballgown
Want to feel like a princess? Just
slip into this stunning vintage
1950's silk ballgown, from a Fifth
Avenue NYC estate, and start looking
for your tiara.
Yards and yards of lustrous cream
colored silk is taken to another
level with the addition of silver
beadwork and rhinestone centered
flowers. This brilliant decoration
is used lavishly on the bodice of
the dress, and the motif is repeated
at the hipline of the skirt. This
design goes three quarters of the
way around the skirt creating the
appearance of a separate train at
the back.
The wide straps are attached to the
boned inner lining, and a full tulle
petticoat is sewn to the waist.
Hooks and eyes close the interior
bodice and a metal zipper closes the
center back of the dress.
This lovely ballgown is in excellent
condition with just a few very faint
marks on the bottom of the skirt.
These are shown in the last
photograph, however they are so
faint that they barely show when the
dress is worn.
