Bergdorf Goodman New Look Coat
This coat is a gorgeous and
affordable interpretation of the
New Look made famous by
Christian Dior in 1947. I am
amazed that it still bears the
original Bergdorf Goodman hang
tag, how could someone own this
gorgeous coat and never wear it?
The coat has a fitted bodice and
full skirt, the new look after
war time fabric restrictions
were lifted. It is made from a
soft black wool with a black
taffeta shawl collar and taffeta
inside the box pleats of the
skirt. There are eight buttons,
with a hook and eye closure at
the bust and at the waist to
keep everything in place. The
sleeves have a turned back cuff,
perfect for showing off some
great gloves or fabulous
bracelets. The full skirt is so
feminine, this coat could also
be worn as a coat-dress with the
addition of tights or leggings.
Never worn, it is in excellent
condition.
