Black Silk Embroidered Ballgown
Fitted and full, sexy and demure,
black and floral, this amazing
strapless ballgown from the 1950's
seems to capture the contradictions
in a changing society quite
fashionably.
The fitted bodice is boned for
support and it sits at the natural
waistline in the front, over a
severely fitted long skirt. The
bodice dips low in the back over a
full evening skirt. This dress
embodies the glamour of the 1950's
and the post war years. It is from
the estate of a Main Line
Philadelphia socialite who
unfortunately removed the label. The
fabric is embroidered with copper
colored long stem roses and the
dress has a full and pristine black
tulle crinoline under the full
portion of the skirt for extra drama
and glamour. This amazing ballgown
is in excellent condition.
