1940's Beaded Crepe Jacket
Sage green crepe is
lavishly beaded with white caviar beads. The oriental inspired
pattern is outlined in a golden chain stitch embroidery.
The edge of the
jacket and the sleeves are covered with a striking band of
red/orange caviar beads. The simple style of the jacket shows the
elaborate beadwork to perfection. The collarless jacket has a
single fabric covered button and loop in front, as well as a hook
and eye at the waistline. The peplum is curved in a figure
flattering line which is slightly longer in back. The sleeves taper
to a point at the wrist, accented by the bright beadwork. There are
four fabric covered buttons and loops for a snug fit. The lining is
a matching green satin, and there is a label from Nelly Gaffney, San
Francisco.
This generously
sized jacket is in pristine condition.
