Jeweled
Satin Evening Bag
Cream
colored silk satin is woven with an Oriental motif
of dragons and clouds in shades of blue, grey, gold,
brown and red. Of course the real attention getter
is the large double sided red jeweled frame and
clasp atop this vintage bag.
The
jewels are set in brass wire with the smallest
stones near the frame and the largest ones at the
top. The frame appears to be an older piece of
Indian jewelry but the bag is not marked so I can't
be certain.
The
interior of the bag is lined with a darker shade of
satin and there are two open pockets and a lipstick
compartment. These are all trimmed with gold
kidskin. The bag retains the original mirror with a
matching satin covered back.
This striking and unusual vintage bag is in
excellent condition.
