Poodle Purse
French
poodles were quite the rage in the 1950's. In
fashion they appeared on blouses, poodle skirts and
even jewelry. This vintage poodle purse by Walborg
is my favorite example.
This "miniature" poodle purse is completely covered
in black caviar beads. The face and body, even the
underside of the ears, are smoothly beaded in
black. The head, ears, tail and legs bear the
distinctive poodle cut executed in loops of caviar
beads, creating a fluffy and authentic poodle look.
The nose is beaded in white, and the glass eyes are
pink with black centers.
The
bag opens with a zipper at the center back. It is
lined in black satin and bears the label "Walborg,
Hand Made in Japan".
These bags originally came in three sizes and this
one is the smallest. This poodle purse is in
pristine condition, and is hoping to be adopted
soon.
