Lucite and Satin
Box Bag
This bag
is so unusual; combining lucite, satin, bakelite and brass
in one design.
Cream
satin is quilted in red and encased in lucite for the
body of the bag. There is a wide satin strap for
carrying, and a red bakelite closure which slides across
the brass trim to open the bag.
The
interior of this bag is just as interesting. A
burgundy and cream fabric is used for the lining and a
separate change purse. There are moveable sections on
each side, one with a comb and the other with a fabric
backed mirror.
The mirror
is starting to loose some luster, and there is a small
mark on strap where it rested on the brass ring for the
last half century. Otherwise this unusual mid-century
handbag is in excellent condition.
