Tassell Short
Evening Dress
Gustave
Tassell designed for Hattie Carnegie in New York and Jacques
Fath in Paris before opening his own business in California
in the late 1950's. Jacqueline Kennedy wore his clothes
during her White House years. Tassell was a Coty Award
winner in 1961.
This
elegant, vintage, strapless evening gown in black silk is
typical of his designs. Great fabric and great workmanship
combined with spare and elegant design.
There are
seven vertical seams in this dress, that is all Tassell
needed to create this clean lined, modern garment. The
bodice is fully lined and has an interior zipper as well as
ever so slight padding in the bustline. There is another
center back zipper and the dress is fully lined in black
silk.
This
timeless garment is labeled Tassell for I.Magnin, and it is
in pristine condition.
