Holly Harp Design
"I've been
designing clothes since the late 1960's. I always try to remind
myself that I am dressing a woman's soul as well as her body.
Souls and bodies do best when they are relaxed, fluid and
comfortable....I hope my clothes reflect a woman's soul" Holly
Harp
Holly Harp
opened her first boutique on the Sunset Strip in 1968, and a
boutique in Henri Bendel in 1972.
After
experimenting with soft matte jersey it became a signature
fabric for her. This Grecian inspired, matte jersey, two piece
outfit is a perfect example of the rich hippie look she
popularized in the 1970's. Worn separately or together each
piece makes a dramatic statement.
The sleeveless
top is gently gathered from the gold banded neckline, which ties
at the back. The hemline is asymmetrical and edged in gold,
and there is a tie belt that is also trimmed in metallic gold.
The trousers are gently gathered into a narrow waistband that is
elasticized at the back. There are pockets hidden in the side
seams of the tapered leg trousers.
This feminine
and sensuous outfit is in pristine condition. Both pieces bear
the lace label of Holly Harp.
