Yards and yards and yards of sheer black silk chiffon were used to create this chic little cocktail dress from James Galanos, circa 1970.  It is simply elegant and elegantly chic.

The fitted bodice has narrow shoulder seams and sleek cut-in arm holes.  There is a fitted waistline and a center back zipper.  The skirt is a double layer of silk chiffon, and it is made form gored panels eliminating any gathering at the waistline.  The underskirt is black silk.  This great jewelry dress was retailed by Bonwit Teller and it is also labeled Galanos in the side seam.  It is in excellent condition.
