Lush tropical colored flowers are splashed
across this stunning negligee and peignoir set,
custom made in Italy circa 1970.
The bias cut gown is so beautifully made that it
could be worn as an evening dress. Double
spaghetti straps support the lace edged
neckline, which is further embellished with a
row of embroidered satin. There are two darts
at the bustline, a separate sash, and a ruffled
hem which is banded with a row of hand
embroidery. This beautiful piece is almost
completely hand made.
The luxurious dressing gown is trimmed with the
same satin and lace at the neckline. There is
also a satin and silk tie and three silk covered
buttons and hand bound button holes. The long
bell shaped sleeves are also edged in satin and
lace, there is a separate sash, and the ruffled
hem matches the hem of the gown.
Both pieces are labeled and both pieces are in
immaculate condition. I doubt if they were ever
worn.
