Where to begin...the great modern style or the great modern fabric?  This casually elegant coat from the Valentino Boutique line has it all.

The collarless, belted coat with deep slits on either side typifies the clean lines of the 1970's. The fabric design adds to this modern look. Beige wool is patterned with cream colored squares and rectangles in an overlapping design. Faux tortoise buttons adorn the front of the coat as well as the cuffs. [The extra button is still sewn inside]. There is a breast pocket on the left side, as well as two slash pockets at the hips. The coat is lined in light beige taffeta, most of which is hand sewn.

Retailed by Martha, the exclusive Park Ave. New York shop, this coat still retains the original tags.  It is in mint condition.
