Clovis Ruffin Cape
Clovis Ruffin
started his own company, Ruffinwear, in 1972. His clothes were
youthful and reasonably priced, and he was successful almost
immediately.
The Coty Award
winning designer was best known for his use of jersey and knit
fabrics in easy-to-wear styles. This long cape from the 1970's
is a perfect example of his work. Collarless, with a simple
hook and thread closure, it is made with just four seams. The
fabric is decorated with shiny black pallets, sewn to the
garment with monofilament. This plastic thread is also part of
the decoration. The garment is extremely lightweight and it is
in excellent condition.
