Mollie Parnis Two Piece
Dress
This two piece
dress is really on the cusp of the 1950's and 1960's, but the
style of the beaded flowers is more OpArt than 1950's beaded
cashmere cardigan so I opted to place it in the more modern
category.
Molly Parnis
designed this dress for DePinna in New York City. The
sleeveless shell top is organdy, covered with rows of vertical
white beading. Several shades of green floss are used for the
embroidered flowers, which are decorated with iridescent
rhinestones. The hemline is decorated with a thick looped
beadwork fringe. The effect is quite striking. The top is
lined in organdy, and there are snaps at the center back.
This is paired
with a long cream colored satin skirt having a narrow waistband
and a center back metal zipper. Both pieces are in pristine
condition.
