Crisp Linen and Lace
Dress
Crisp white
linen lavishly embroidered with flowers and trailing vines,
is further embellished with Cluny lace insertion in this
pristine dress, circa 1910.
The bodice
closes at the center front with crocheted buttons and a
double edge of lace. The long sleeves have fitted cuffs
with five buttons and appliquéd leaves. These leaves are
generously appliquéd on the back of the bodice as well.
There is a fitted waistline with hooks and eyes at the skirt
front. On either side there are three wide tucks that are
gathered near the hemline and held in place by an appliquéd
leaf for a modified hobble skirt look. This is repeated at
the back of the skirt as well.
This
charming dress is in excellent condition.
