1930's Bias Cut Lame
Dress
Hollywood
glamour comes to mind when you when you first see this sexy,
figure flattering bias cut lame evening gown from the
1930's. The alluring Art Deco lines and intricate
construction make the most of the glistening golden floral
patterned lame.
The bodice
is brilliantly constructed with vertical darts just below
the narrow straps and an interior lame band at the center
anchoring a series of horizontal darts at the bust. The
dress opens under the left arm with a series of snaps. The
construction through the mid section of the dress is unusual
and intriguing. There are diamond shaped panels, a circular
design at the center, and on the sides there are panels that
look like and appear to function like a hand, giving the
dress that amazing bias cut , figure flattering, sexy
fit. The skirt has a double box pleat at the center, and
loose bias cut panels above an undulating hemline with a
train at the back.
The fabric
is a delight for the eye. A deep, rich brown is shot
through with metallic gold lame and patterned with colorful
nasturtiums. The blooms are done in shades of orange, red,
pink, blue and green, a glorious combination of colors for a
dress that is both timeless and without a season. This
beautiful 1930's dress is in excellent condition.
