The design is both
printed and woven in this beautiful pale pink silk chiffon
shawl, circa 1910. It is often referred to as "ribbon silk"
because of the way in which it is woven.
The body of the
shawl is pale pink silk chiffon. Light and dark bands are woven
into the border, which is then printed with an intricate pattern
in shades of red, blue, taupe, pink and lavender. There are
three graduated circular designs on each end of the shawl
repeating the design motif. Multicolor silk fringe is hand
knotted at each end. Graphic design and feminine colors combine
to make this a stunning shawl. It is in excellent condition.
