Stunning Silk Shawl
Lightweight silk is woven with a tone on tone design, and printed with a
magnificent and colorful border design in this stunning fringed shawl,
circa 1910.
The
black silk shawl has a woven floral design throughout, contrasting
handsomely with the eye catching pattern of the border. This border takes
inspiration from the woven paisley shawls of Kashmir. The large
medallions in all four corners are reminiscent of boteh designs. The
beautiful colors include several shades of pale blue, aqua, rose, pink
and lavender with hints of green. The shawl has a generous fringe on
all four sides, and it is in excellent condition.
